How to play Poker: Step-by-Step

Before you can begin, make sure that you are registered with the Jackpot Jill poker room. All poker games include a standard deck of 52 playing cards. All Jokers are removed from the pack. Poker chips or real money can be used to make bets in the first round, and there should be 2 or more players in the game.

Online poker is a game that requires a certain level of skill in order to make great winnings. The goal of the game is get the strongest hand to win.

Below Are the Basic Steps on How To Play Poker Online:

Step 1: Each player gets two cards.

Step 2: Small blind bets are placed first which are followed by the big blind bet.

Step 3: In this first round of betting players make their bets based on the hands that they have been dealt.

Step 4: The dealer will then deal the first three community cards all facing up. This is known as the flop.

Step 5: The dealer will then deal the fourth card also facing up. This is known as the turn.

Step 6: The fifth and final card is dealt by the dealer. This is known as the river.

Step 7: Players determine who have won based on the one that has the strongest hand. This goes according to card the ranking of the card.

A popular strategy in poker games is ‘bluffing’. This is when an opponent displays confidence in their cards to make you think that they have the stronger hand before deciding to fold.

Betting Options

Every game of poker has a round of betting which can take place before or after the game. These are the best that you can make:

Call: Match an opponent’s bet.

Check: Not bet until a later stage of the game. 

Fold: Withdraw your hand from the round.

Go all in: Bet with all of your chips.

Raise: Increase your bet size.

Online Poker Hand Rankings:

Royal Flush: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten. They must all be from the same suite.

Straight Flush: Five consecutive cards from the same unit.

Four of a kind: Four cards from the same rank.

Full House: Three matching cards and two others from the same rank.

Flush: Five cards from the same suite showing in any order.

Straight: Five consecutive cards.

Three-of a kind: Three cards from the same rank.

Two Pair: Two cards from the same rank that appears twice. E.g.) Two Aces and Two three’s.

High card: Five cards that do not match.
